Due to the devastating war between 1945 and 1975 many parents have lost their children. As there is no established social system, those parents are starving now, as they are old and cannot work any more, to make their living.

The amount of handicapped people in Central Vietnam is very high. As there are no established social institutions and lacking financial support, the families, although already among the poorest, have to take care of their handicapped family members. This situation often exceeds the financial possibilities available.

We support a total of 600 old and handicapped people in the provinces of Thua Thien and Quang Tri.
